Ensto Oy and Porvoon Energia's recovery and waste heat project

Iotoi Oy is implementing a large recovery and waste heat project in Porvoo , the aim of which is to utilize the waste heat generated in Ensto's industrial property in Porvoon Energia's district heating network using a new method.

The project uses Iotoi Oy's internationally patented PIP3 method, which enables the use of the district heating return pipe for both heating properties and distributing waste heat in the district heating network.

Iotoi Oy has been responsible for the ideation, planning and coordination of the project. Iotoi Oy also acts as the main contractor for the project that is starting. The project, which started in late 2024, will be completed in autumn 2025.

Loviisa Lämpö's new energy center was inaugurated in November 2024 - Iotoi as the main developer

Iotoi's largest completed project in 2024 is the energy center built by Loviisan Lämpö Oy , next to the production facilities of Loval Oy. Iotoi acted as the project's creator, designer, acquirer of investment subsidies and the main implementer.

The project is driven by Loval Oy 's increased cooling needs, but it also responds to the development needs of Loviisa Lämpö's production. The new energy center produces up to 30% of the entire network's district heating, which significantly reduces the share of production that was previously largely based on wood chip combustion. Fossil fuels are no longer needed, even during peak loads.

The Energy Center is an industrial-sized three-pipe heat pump plant that utilizes waste heat from the cooling process, return heat from the district heating network, and outdoor air as heat sources. The energy center has a thermal output of 2.8 MW, and the plant's flexibility is increased by three 300 m³ storage tanks.

IOTOI's first PIP3 three-pipe project for Porvoo Central School - The property will be heated entirely with Porvoo Energia's return heat

IOTOI's new PIP3 three-pipe solution at Porvoo Central School makes district heating production more efficient and opens up new business opportunities for energy companies. Heating the school with heat from the return pipe makes Porvoo Energia's district heating network more efficient and saves the energy company thousands of euros per year.

Sensors installed indoors and updated building automation systems in connection with the PIP3 project reduce the property's overall energy consumption.

Iotoi acted as the initiator and main contractor for the project, which was completed in 2021.
